REASONS & EXCUSES....

Collected the cards on the 5th - thus began the rush, rush, rush of collecting addresses (by sms, mostly), writing down & sending out invitations. as usual...last minute.... promise, won't happen again, insyaAllah.

Forthe record, the first to be officially invited was AJK WJS! couldn't attend the meeting on Dec 29th 2007. Decided to sms the invitation to K Ton & Sila.

Sahabat2 JIM AJ were only told masa hulurkan kad.... 'afwan katheera, x buat d KL. ada yg pertikai, tak sudi kongsi kegembiraan dengan kami ke??? bukan gitu...

Antara rasionalnya

yang paling utama, nakkan atok ayah ada bersama dihari bahagia k long. kalu buat diKL, besar kemungkinan ayoh tak dapat datang

It proved to be the right decision, alhamdulillah. From day 1 of knowing that walimah akan diadakan di Melor, he was the 'busiest' man around! he said he'll take charge of kawasan rumah & take charge he did! lepas subuh dah turun, pottering around, doing what he could (not much actually, but it's the efforts that count!). stopping only for solat & stopping just before maghrib. tu pun kadang2 after isya' turun balik.... we could see that he was happy doing it, alhamdulillah. One night masa duduk2 lepas dinner, he complained sakit belakang - lepas urut sikit, he got up & announced that he's going down again - "duduk sakit belakang, kalu buat kerja tak sakit..." and he came in around midnight! subhanallah.

Cek pernah mention kalu afrah kawin, nak buat kat Melor

but that was a few years back! When we first proposed it, she was worried there's no one around to help her. alhamdulillah , Che Rahimi & Peed sanggup handle , syukur sangat..... it was one HUGE burden taken off our shoulders. Words can't really express our gratitude .. moga diganjari Allah dengan sebaik2 ganjaran, ameen.

Then there were Sir, Namaziah & Zahrin. One very helpful family - who all these while dah memang selalu jengok2 cek & ayah. A BIG THANK YOU to u, sir & yah. Your help & care is greatly appreciated. Thank u for treating afrah as your own daughter, thus making sure that only the best will do, for this auspicious ocassion!

Cek was one busy lady throughout.... we let her decide on most matters, selagi within limits! We gave her the liberty of inviting whom she wished - friends & relatives alike. For this we increased our initial order of 500 to 800, baik lebih dari tak cukup! alhamdulillah, the food was good & enough even to be taken home by some.

Royal mertabak, akok, agar2, pulut + roti & kuzi courtesy yah sir & an array of kuih sumbangan berbagai pihak.

Menu kenduri

Nasi minyak & putih, ayam percik, gulai kawah, keli masak merah, acar & limau. yum! yum!

Our caterer was K Na(terah) who happened to be anak murid ayah di Nipah, subhanallah! Makanan d meja pengantin K (Masyi)Tah tambah dengan daging keping goreng kicap, sotong sedap(!) & ikan steam. tak lupa pudding special.yum! yum! Pengantin nampak berselera makan... me? hari tu tak berapa lapar, hehehe. rugi btol!

Cek was also happy the house got upgraded!

upgrade aircon di bilik tamu & other aircons serviced, at last!

plumbing work done - dah lama terbengkalai

the same goes with lampu - all overdue!

sambung air dgn kelwater - sadly, sampai hari ni masih ada problem .

cek juga dapat new barang2 dapur - nice kettles (utk teh minum pagi) & lots of new jugs.

The best must be the new dinner set utk hidangan pengantin - she chose the top of the range punya! well, what matters is, she's happy!alhamdulillah

since abah & mak tak ada, baru sekali the whole family from both sides berkumpul.

We thought this walimah would be a good ocassion to get together, after sooooo long! Alhamdulillah, tujuan ni tercapai, with about 90% invited datang hari tu. Terharu juga tengok yang jauh pun balik, walaupun sorang & yang dekat semuanya bawa keluarga. Ayah Cik must be the happiest - credit should go to Izwan for inviting him along. jadi tu lah antara sebab - of 'cos we'd love to have it here in KL as well.. insyaAllah, kita gabung dgn majlis keluarga besan nanti. This needs to be worked out...

Most cards were posted or handed out by the 10th. 11 th-13th january, balik kampung lagi. This time specifically to settle a few pending matters - catering, accomodation, aturcara etc, & most importantly utk panggil relatives, personally, where possible. The whole of sunday was spent going round Besut, capping off dengan makan gulai ayam kampung kat rumah Yah Wan Daud.

Rasanya dah banyak rumah pegi, ada juga yang tak sempat - so we left it to cek to habiskan.
